Mental health and wellbeing

We know that from time to time family life can have its complications and that sometimes families may need some additional support. We want to help when it is needed. We believe that we get the best for our children by being open, honest and supporting our families. We can signpost families to a range of services which can support you. We believe asking for help is a brave and positive act - it is a sign of strength, not of weakness. To support and advise you at such times, we have our Early Help Offer and links to other services you might want to contact.

Our families’ mental health and wellbeing is the most important thing to us at Mugginton. Every child needs to be safe, happy and healthy in order to succeed.

Mental health and wellbeing plays a vital role in education and impact on our children’ learning. We are committed to advancing and safeguarding children’s, staffs’ and families’ emotional wellbeing and health.

This academic year we have committed to working towards the School Mental Health Award, supported by the Carnegie School of Education who state:

The Department for Education recognises the direct link between positive mental health in schools and successful educational outcomes; the Mental Health Award for Schools builds on this link and provides a framework for educational institutions to evidence policies and initiatives that work towards improving emotional health and wellbeing for both staff and pupils.’

You can find more information and resources on local and national help available to you below. To the right are links to key policies and information, including our Mental Health and Wellbeing policy and Early Help Offer. Please feel free to contact school should you require signposting to support that may not be mentioned below.
